The CCMI & NOAA ICON station is scheduled to arrive at the LCRC at the end of January for installation in February. NOAA scientists, including Dr. Jim Hendee & Jules Craynock, are also expected at the end of the month.

Our 34 ft research and dive vessel has been fully upgraded with a new canvas top for shade. She looks great and is due back in Little Cayman shortly.

The LCRC opens to a busy month. In January, we have 2 Ph.D students in residence from the University of New Hampshire who are working to better understand nitrogen fixation in corals.Dr. Mark Warner from the University of Delaware is conducting a site visit for a new 3-year research project on coral reef stress while Dr. Bill Wagner from St. Matthews University (GC Veterinary School) will also visit the LCRC to learn about CCMI programs and facilites.
