document.write("Dr. Vania Coelho has been working on CCMI's resident research program since 2002. She has a bachelor's degree in Biology, a master's degree in Ecology, and a Ph.D. in Zoology, all from the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil. She completed most of her doctorate research while working as a visiting scientist at the National Museum of Natural History, Smithsonian Institution. After completing her doctorate, Dr. Coelho held a post-doctoral research scientist position and an associate research scientist position at Columbia University. She joined Dominican University of California as an assistant professor in the end of 2002. Dr. Coelho's research focuses on coral reef ecology and conservation.<p>");
